Farms & Markets

There's more to the Lake George Area than beaches and boats. From fresh goat cheese and pure Adirondack maple syrup to markets that proudly sell these products, farms and markets connect visitors with Lake George Area delights.

Farms and markets throughout the Lake George Area are producing and selling local products that you’ll love. Take a scenic drive out to a small town farm such as Nettle Meadow and taste creamy goat cheeses, such as the multiple award-winning Kunik cheese. For the sweetest product the Lake George Area has to offer, sample the season’s bounty of maple syrup at Thurman Maple Days. Held for three weekends every March during NYS Maple Weekends, Thurman Maple Days invites syrup lovers to taste maple products, learn about the syrup process, and indulge in a pancake breakfast. If you can’t make it in March, many of the farms are open periodically for farm tours, where you can explore their sugar bush and sugarhouses.

To sample an abundance of everything that Lake George Area farms have to offer, stop at one of the local farmer’s markets. These places are in towns all along the region and are one of the best ways to taste the flavor of the region. Because everyone knows food tastes better when you know where it came from.
